How to make your own water color paints

Don’t throw away those markers that have dried out! Remove the back cap with a pair of plyers. Use tweezers or scissors to pull out ink cartridge. Place cartridge in a cup of water , approx 2 TBSP. Let it soak as you work on other markers. When done squeeze water and ink out into the cup. The cartridge will turn white. Place paints in a tray for use! You have just recycled markers into water color paints!

EARTH DAY 2009

   Sat, April 25, 2009 – 9:45 AM

In celebration of Earth Day this week I introduced the 3 R’s…Reduce, Recycle and Reuse to my class. They are now totally aware of the recycle symbol and look for it on EVERYTHING. In the classroom we try not to waste water. We save and reuse paper. We recycle plastic bottles. We turn off the lights when we leave the classroom. On Friday we went on a “trash walk” with our trash monsters and cleaned up the garbage on our block. To them it was like a treasure hunt and they really got into it. I am proud to know that I did a small part in getting my kids environmentally aware and doing their part to care for our planet. Are you doing your part?

Day 5

Couldn’t make in to work today. Made it through yesterday but the migraine progressively got worse. Sinus pressure in my head, eyes hurting, feeling nauseous. 5 days, 4 migraine pills and 6 sinus pills later I’m still in agony. When the migraine pills don’t work or don’t last very long I’m screwed. At $30 a pill you’d think they damn well better work…..not always. Extreme cases I go to emergency room for an injection. Can’t do that without insurance and it still cost $100. Just need to ride it out as always. Wears me down and it takes away from my life. 21 years of these major cranial disturbances. Been through many specialists, neurologists, medications,chiropractic care, accupuncture, homeopathic care, changed my diet, exercised and ate healthy. It has helped somewhat ,unfortunately no one can find a cure for migraines. Guess I’m just wired differently. ***sigh***

GET OFF MY FACE!

I can feel the pressure in my forehead. Feels like the vicegrip is squeezing the bridge of my nose and my forehead. I have been sneezing for 2 days. Yesterday I felt groggy, listless and my eyes hurt. CRAP! This usually happens in March! Hope I can head it off before it takes over my skull. Time for saline…. ocean up my nose. : (

The Power of a Moment

It was a moment
that’s all it took
It seemed to suspend time

I caught a glimpse of her
as she passed through my sight
I watched her roll by in her wheelchair

A cardboard sign she held in her hand
scribbled with words that stung my eyes
I am 97 and homeless

The feeling came over me
overwhelmed with sadness
it completely filled my conscience

Tears welled up
I struggled to breathe
I was walking yet I couldn’t move

The sorrow paralyzed me
I needed to help
She was pleading for help

I had the power
and yet I felt powerless
a feeling that stayed as did the tears

I saw her on Venice Beach today
her memory stays with me
weighing heavily on my mind

FINALLY!!!!!!

Just got some great news today. My lawsuit has finally settled after 3 loooong years of waiting, waiting and more waiting. It is now OVER!
My first job in SF was such a bad experience with some really bad people and now I reap the benefits.

I feel like a butterfly floating free.

Good news for my wonderful hubby, who has stuck in there and kept up he good fight. The bookings are rolling in finally. Busy…busy…busy.

My job is still going great! Things are working so well. My kids love me. I adore them. Their parents appreciate me.

AHHHH finally some great news to celebrate.

A toast baby!
